Sneak Peeks: Better Days Have Come

That’s right, my friends! After nearly a decade, Yellowcard has announced a new album, Better Days, under Better Noise Music, produced by Blink-182’s Travis Barker and featuring vocals from Avril Lavigne and Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba! The album is focusing on the band’s current chapter of “happiness,” reminiscent of when the band’s lead singer, Ryan Key, was “writing songs like he was 19 again,” he says.

The band’s title track features a wildly creative, super nostalgic music video taking place in a knockoff Blockbuster Video with members of the band dressed as 80’s movie characters. As a self-proclaimed ’80s-early 2000’s nostalgia whore, I absolutely can’t get enough of this! The song is in signature Ryan Mendez style, features the band’s popular sharp riffs, is reminiscent of the band’s Paper Walls era, and is extremely upbeat and catchy! I highly recommend you give it a listen!

The full album tracklist is as follows:

  1. “Better Days”
  2. “Take What You Want”
  3. “Love Letters Lost” (feat. Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio)
  4. “honestly i”
  5. “You Broke Me Too” (feat. Avril Lavigne)
  6. “City of Angels”
  7. “Bedroom Posters”
  8. “Skin Scraped”
  9. “Barely Alive”
  10. “Big Blue Eyes”

Upon the album’s release, look out for my full review…can’t wait to see what else Yellowcard has in store! If this title track release is any indication, it will be absolutely uplifting and exciting!

Thanks for reading.

XOXO,
