The Scene: Upcoming Shows (Get in the Pit!)

I am just BLOWN AWAY by how many tours have been announced this year alone, and I couldn’t be more excited! Below is a list of some of the big name tours (as well as smaller cover band/tribute shows) for all of us elder emos and metalheads to enjoy! More to come 😉

The Vans Warped Tour: The most iconic tour of them all, for emos, skaters, and Indies to enjoy all things punk, from the big namers to the up-and-comers. Catch the tour in Washington DC, Long Beach, Orlando, Montreal, and Mexico City this year!

Louder Than Life: This lineup is STACKED to the nines…it’s got Pierce the Veil, My Chemical Romance, Rise Against, Halestorm, Tool, A Day to Remember, Iron Maiden, Adelita’s Way, Set It Off…the list goes on! Literally almost all my favorite bands will be there… you won’t want to miss this one!

Welcome to Rockville: This festival rivals Louder Than Life for sure…it’s also got almost every single rock lover’s favorite artists, from The Offspring, to Black Veil Brides, to Yellowcard, to Ice Nine Kills, and MANY, many more. Snag your tickets while you can!

Aftershock: This one’s got another killer lineup rivaling the previous two, with performances from Limp Bizkit, Killswitch Engage, New Found Glory, Sleeping with Sirens, The Starting Line, Sublime, AFI, and more! Another great one for the books!

Riot Fest: Hosting some great pop-punk acts in the past, I’m sure this one won’t disappoint this year! However, the lineup is still a secret for now 🙁 Definitely stay up to date with this one as its great reputation precedes it and it definitely deserves all the hype it’s gotten!

Sick New World: Featuring Marilyn Manson, Knocked Loose, Coal Chamber, Underoath, and more, Sick New World has all the metal our hearts could ever desire!

Emo’s Not Dead (E.N.D.) Cruise: Over 20 emo bands like Hawthorne Heights, Mayday Parade, Gym Class Heroes, We Came As Romans, and more all packed on a cruise ship with emo lovers setting sail to The Bahamas…what could be better?

Three Days Grace Alienation Tour: Special Guests for these shows have included The Funeral Portrait and I Prevail, with Finger Eleven coming next!

Evanescence Tour: I’m so happy Amy Lee is back with just as much fire as she had twenty years ago! My middle school self definitely never thought this tour would be happening right now and I’m so thrilled! Check out Spiritbox on the tour as well!

Simple Plan, Bowling For Soup and 3 OH!3 Some of my childhood favorites from age 13 up in to high school, I’m so happy these bands are making the rounds for a tour this year together!

Scoring The End of The World Tour: This one features Motionless in White with Lorna Shore, Fit for a King and Static Dress…metalheads rejoice!

Taking Back Sunday and Bayside These guys are personal favorites for me and my meetup group as well, and Bayside’s backstory in particular is insane…definitely check them out!

MxPx and The Ataris What a duo! The Ataris even put on a free show and lunch in DC today ahead of their show tonight at 9:30 Club..I can’t believe I missed it! Tickets are going FAST so get yours now!

Motion City Soundtrack and Say Anything: Here’s another fantastic pair that makes me feel like everything is alright again! Get those tickets before they’re gone!

For all of you elder emos who still want to enjoy the music that shaped our childhoods but don’t want to shell out the cash for those crazy Live Nation prices, here are some of my personal favorite emo and metal cover/tribute bands going on tour for you to choose from:

The Warped Tour Band and Emotional Fall Out: These two bands are good friends with each other who hail from Long Island, performing ALL of the emo hits our hearts desire, putting audience experience at the forefront and the latter also being a Paramore Tribute Band! I have personally talked to both bands myself and I can’t say enough good things…especially the fact that both bands perform almost JUST LIKE the bands they pay homage to and the singers are out of this world!

Emo Kids: The energy of these shows is just unmatched…the band is awesome (having met them) and they even have their audiences vote on the songs they want to hear each night, deep cuts and all. How cool is that?

House of Heavy: Covers of all the bangers us metalheads could ever want! Catch the tour now!

While there are probably so many bands I haven’t mentioned and a lot of tour crossovers for each of the bands mentioned at the festivals, these are some of the most talked about and definitely offer something for everyone. More to come!

Till Next Time!

XOXO,

Meagan
