Everyone’s Talking! What about? All Time Low’s newest studio album of the same name, of course! Everyone’s Talking was released this past Friday and OG fans of ATL can’t get enough of the new album. The album is a refreshing take on adulthood complete with that All Time Low charm! Here are my thoughts on some standout tracks:

Cold Open: What a beautiful, raw opening acoustic track that is the perfect intro to the album! I love the smart lyrical content about the challenges of adulthood and “years of trauma and magic tied up with a string and a bow!” With nothing but Alex Gaskarth’s strong vocals and the crisp guitar in the background, the purity on this track is unbeatable!
Everyone’s Talking: The album’s title track delivers on that signature All Time Low upbeat, punky high energy! What a fun and creative way to refer to a time when the band was experiencing hardship in the media, as I’m sure everyone has some experience losing friends into their thirties that can be challenging. This one will be an ATL classic, for sure!
Little Bit: While this is definitely not my favorite all time low song, and I feel it throws of the pace of the album somewhat, I like that it’s overall a different sound for the band. It’s got some clever writing about the immaturity of chasing thrills when you are young to fit in and sometimes how it doesn’t go away into adulthood, always wanting more or wanting the next high. Brilliant!
Suckerpunch: See my review of the hit single, here!
The Weather: This song gives me massive Wake Up Sunshine vibes (my favorite ATL album!) and I’m here for it! It’s a single on the album that’s a fun and easy listen with a great chorus that explores the complexity of changing relationships over time. This song is definitely one of my favorites on the new record!
Falling For Strangers: The most classically sounding All Time Low song on the album in my opinion, “Falling for Strangers” will definitely be a hit for years to come. The chorus is so catchy, the lyrics are witty, and the song will be pleasantly stuck in your head all day! 🙂
Sugar: While this is definitely more of a slow pop tune than anything punk related, it was so nostalgic to hear JoJo making new music again, and she and Alex Gaskarth harmonize so nicely on this ballad! It’s a relaxing listen to go about your day to, for sure.
Tread Water: Featuring Ruston Kelly, “Tread Water” is a calming listen that is about learning and growing from relationships. The song adds a nice transition into country-rock that gives the album an extra nudge of warmth and heart.
Butterflies: A killer introspective rock anthem to close out the album, “Butterflies” is another smartly written single about growing as a person that has some of the best riffs on the whole album. It’s giving vintage ATL vibes but with a heavy twist. I predict it will become another All Time Low classic that couldn’t have made for a better closer!
Overall, I love that the band has expanded on their signature All Time Low sound with this album, adding some fresh pop and country melodies, sharper lyrics, and more mature themes about adulthood. While Everyone’s Talking! wasn’t necessarily the best All Time Low album, I love that the band has continued to make music for over two decades and this album still feels quite true to them while evolving with the audience that has grown with and loves them. I definitely recommend giving the entire album a listen here!
Till Next Time!
XOXO,
